Wow! The public response to our "Operation Cash for Candy" promotion was absolutely fantastic! We had half a ton of candy donated by Tri-City children which is now on its way to the troops. We trust many smiles will be created and many lives will be saved as our brave soldiers use this candy to further information gathering in the war zones. The comments from the kids as they brought in the candy was heartwarming and said it all. "As soon as we heard we could give our candy to the soldiers, we were excited to go out and get as much as we could. This was so much fun!" And, "Thank you for letting us give some candy to the troops."
Thank you Tri-Cities for supporting this project. We'll do it again for sure next year, adn maybe we can get double our efforts and get a ton of candy! We are very thankful to the local media who fraciously helped us to get the word out and support our cause. Dr. Ostler Speaks at Oasis Physical Therapy
Thanks goes to Mindi Irvine MPT, and the team at Oasis Physical Therapy in Pasco, for a great meeting at Oasis PT. It was a thrill to be invited to share the one hour radio interview (thanks KONA!) with Mindi in discussing on air the many aspects of TMD diagnosis and treatment, and then following this up with an evening presentation to the public at the Oasis facilities. When people have jaw joint problems, or facial pain, or headaches, it very often requires a multi-disciplinary approach to get the dental bite right, as well as to correct problems related to posture. Again my thanks go out to Oasis for stepping forward and helping me treat this difficult health condition and for allowing me to share their stage in showcasing and presenting TMJ treatments to the public. For more information about Oasis Physical Therapy, visit http://www.oasisphysicaltherapy.com/. The Latest in Sports - Performance Mouthware
Shaq O'Neil and Terrell Owens are just the latest of a growing list of profesional and amateur atheltics to discover the Power Mouthguard difference. We're pleased to announce it's now arrived in the Tri Cities!
For the past decade we've enjoyed helping many people overcome and eliminate migraine headaches, facial pain and jaw problems using a new branch of dentistry called Neuromuscular Dentistry. As it turns out, these same principles of treatment also help better brace and balance the body which improves atheltic performace, strength, flexibility, balance and ability. Both Shaq and Terrell have become vocal fans of using power mouthguards. Perhaps you noticed the stellar year Shaq had last year in Phoenix! We've now got them on video in their own words. You can check them out at http://www.ppmmouthguard.com/.
The PPM mouthguard, (which stands for Pure Power Mouthguard) is just now being introduced into the Tri-Cities. Only dentists with training in neuromuscular dentistry and who are certified and trained to fit these unique mouthguards are allowed to work with the PPM mouthguards. If what we've seen in other markets and with other media holds true here, it won't be long until both the local sports and media complex will begin to make a big deal about this. We've already fit a local golf pro with his own power mouthguard, and he is raving about the difference it is making in his game. We've discovered a rather simple test to determine if someone might be a good candidate for a power mouthguard - its called the "PEN Test." You can see how to do it yourself at http://www.themouthguardadvantage.com/, as well as learn more about the science behind it.

Operation Cash-For-Candy Now Underway
Its almost Halloween time and "Operation Cash-for-Candy" is now officially underway! Dr. Ostler is organizing several healthcare offices in the region to participate in a candy buy-back initiative aimed at saving teeth and sending the candy to where it can do some good - to our military soldiers! Operation Cash-for-Candy is the Tri-Cities newest way to fight the war on Halloween candy overload and tooth cavities, plus a great way to say thanks to the brave men and women serving our country.
During the first week of November, our office along with other select offices will “buy back” your children’s uneaten, unwrapped “leftover” Halloween candy. The candy will be shipped overseas to our troops as part of the Operation Gratitude project. Children and parents will also have the opportunity to sign cards for our troops as well. When you stop in we will pay your little ones $1 per pound of candy they donate. They can choose to keep the money or donate it back to help pay for shipping the candy to the soldiers. Plus – they will also be registered to win some nice prizes.
Why send candy to the troops? Because the brave men and women in the military deserve a treat, plus they use the candy to work with the 'locals' to get information about explosive devices and other dangers. You see, when your kids donate candy to the troops, they are really saving lives! We hope you'll join with us in thanking the troops this Halloween by donating leftover and excess candy.
